Hi there, I'm glad you're here! I'm Becky Gilliam (she/her) - I am a certified birth doula in Silverton and the owner of Empowered Birth Care.
My path to becoming a doula began in 2020 when I had the special honor of accompanying my sister during her early labor and postpartum recovery. I became a parent the following year and had a challenging, but beautiful and positive birth experience.I completed a DONA International Birth Doula Workshop with the Portland Doula Love Training Center in 2022. I am now a certified birth doula with both DONA International and the State of Oregon as a Traditional Health Worker.
My priority as a birth doula is making sure parents feel safe and supported during their birthing experience. I’m here to honor and serve you, your body, your beliefs, your choices, and your family. I believe birth work should be tailored to a birthing person's identity and preferences, and I will do my very best to do that for you and your family. You are at the center of this work.
I currently offer birth doula services to individuals and families in Silverton, Salem, and surrounding areas. I look forward to learning more about your birth intentions and supporting your empowered birth!
