Hi, I’m Hannah!
THW birth & postpartum doula, mama to 2 boys, wife, creative, and lover of creation in all its many forms.
From an early age, birth and new life have always captivated me. As I welcomed my first son into the world I was struck by the intensity of so many changes at once - my body, emotions, and identity (who am I? here’s a tiny new person depending on me for everything?!)
I realized I needed the wisdom of women who have gone before me to show up and sit with me; to hold me. To educate when appropriate, sharing wisdom, insights and affirmations. To validate fears and worries and make room for confidence to grow.
It was through those experiences of being surrounded by women who genuinely care, that I began to accept the intensity of all the changes, whilst becoming awakened of an inner strength within me that I never knew existed.
When a baby is born a mother is also born.
There’s a wonder and tenderness in the space of birth and new life, for babies and mamas alike. One of my favorite things about being a doula is making space to welcome the wonder and hold all a client experiences in tenderness.
Birthwork has called me into it’s fold whilst fanning a flame for advocacy - assuring that all mothers have adequate access to quality, compassionate care, feel equipped and supported in their decision making, and are offered spaces where their confidence can grow.
I never thought I would be here pursuing this as my calling, but showing up as a doula; possibly your doula; is one of the best parts of my life.
